OCF gives back

Our Children First, Inc. is socially mindful of the different types of needs our community has. Annually, our agency participates in charities like the New York City Coat Drive and Toys for Tots. We also sponsor underprivileged children internationally. Our mission is to be able to contribute and invest in our community as we continue to grow.

Tellez | Carla

M.A., CCC-SLP/TSHH Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist Founder of Our Children First



Carla is a certified Bilingual (Spanish) Speech-Language Pathologist and specializes in pediatric population, school age children. She also has strong background working with adult clients.

Having worked in preschools, special education, child care centers, homes and early intervention settings, has provided Mrs. Tellez with a comprehensive background for understanding the development and remediation of communication skills. Carla is trained in specialized therapy techniques such as the Picture Exchange Communications System (PECS,) PROMPT, Oral Motor, and play-based therapy along with experience and training to treat pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. She also has training in implementing and maintaining augmentative communication. She is licensed by the New York State Board of Examiners for Speech and Language, as well as nationally certified with the American Speech-Hearing Association.

Townsend | Petagaye S.

MS Ed, BCBA, LBA, Supervisor of ABA Services & Quality Assurance –



Petagaye S. Townsend is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education since 2009.

Petagaye earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from The University of the West Indies: Mona Campus; her Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood General and Special Education from Touro College, NY; her BCBA coursework from Florida Institute of Technology, FL and is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Petagaye is New York State Certified as a teacher in Students with Disabilities, Birth to Grade 2 and New State Licensed as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA). As a practitioner, Petagaye gained her experience and expertise from working in both home and educational settings servicing clients with varying diagnoses. As the ABA Clinical Supervisor for ABA services at OCF, Petagaye oversees both the in home and center based ABA program, ensuring the children in both settings are provided with the highest quality of care, where skill acquisition is a priority but most importantly that our children reach their highest potential.

Iannuzzi | Michelle

MS CCC-SLP, Speech Pathology Clinical Supervisor



Michelle Iannuzzi is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist who received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fordham University, and Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from St. John’s University.

Michelle’s professional experience spans early intervention, preschool and school age students in a variety of settings. For the past ten years, she has worked closely with families of children in the Bronx community, in their homes and at the Our Children First clinic. Michelle has also provided speech-language therapy in the public school setting with intensive and typical students ranging from preschool to high school. In this setting, she collaborated with classroom special education teachers, psychologists, and other IEP team members. Michelle has received specialized training in Feeding assessment/intervention, basic sign language, and the Picture Exchange Communication System. Michelle is licensed by the board of Massachusetts and New York; and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. As clinic director, Michelle provides support to OCF clinical fellows and clinicians on staff in order to help create a positive environment for children to achieve success in their speech and language skills.
